Subject: EPO Users' meeting: chance for communication

The European Patent Office will be having its annual user meeting this fall,
in Turin, Italy. The date is I believe sometime in October; don't have it
at hand.
I received a call from an EPO spokesperson the other day by the name of Dan
Shalloe, who informed me that one feature of the meeting would be a
question-and-answer session with the new head of the EPO, Ingo Kober. Dr.
Kober is most anxious to establish communication and address the concerns of
users of EPO patent information.
How refreshing, how different from the attitude in some other patent offices!
In the meantime, those of you who have questions or comments you might like
to have considered at the meeting, even though you might not be able to
attent the meeting in person, can fax them to Mr. Shalloe. The fax number
is +43-1-52126 4192. (From the US, put 011 in front of that.) Also, any
people from the US who might wish to attend the meeting might notify Mr.
Shalloe.
I think this is a great opportunity for those of us who are interested in
patent information, one that we should take advantage of.
