Since you ordered the test translation, we have made several
changes and developments in the software. For example,
we added our own custom dictionary software and have keyed
in almost 80,000 terms in the past year. These terms include
large numbers of organic chemicals, pesticides, weeds,
insects, medicinal plants and tradenames. Each machine
translation is checked for terminology before being sent
out.
Please check our web pages for examples of our
current output in several technology areas. If our current
output does not meet your needs, please check again in
a few months as we are continuously developing the
translation software.

"ConvertedKokai" machine translations of Japanese patents from ISTA
are a relatively inexpensive way to obtain very readable translations.
As a test of the service, we obtained a machine translation of a
agrochemical patent that we previously had had translated by a
"traditional" scientific translation service. The machine translation
wasn't perfect. For example, the machine translation choked on
"trifluoromethy" as a part of a chemical name (however, in this
particular instance, one could figure out what the translation should
have been by examining the chemical structure, which was easy to do in
the side-by-side format in which the translation was provided), and
the machine translation used "shooting insectmedicine" instead of the
more common term "insecticide." But it was good enough to give an
overview of the information disclosed and claimed in the original
document.
