At the risk of stating the obvious, Chemical Patents Plus at
http://casweb.cas.org/chempatplus
appears to be the only service that offers complete full text (bibliographic,
abstract, claims, and description) searching of all classes of patents
offered by the USPTO from 1975 (and some earlier), with no signup fee, no
monthly fee, no search fee, free display of titles and abstracts, and modest
fees for all other displays.
