CAS RELEASES STN EXPRESS 4.0
New version compatible with Windows 3.1x, 95 and NT platforms,
offers online command window, multiple windows interface and much more
ORLANDO, August 25, 1996 -- Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS)
announced today that STN Express 4.0 is now available. The new
version is compatible with Windows 3.1x, 95 and NT operating
systems and offers a host of new features including an online
command window and a multiple windows interface. The
announcement was made at the American Chemical Society (ACS)
National Meeting held in Orlando.
"STN Express 4.0 is a significantly improved version," said Suzan
Brown, CAS director of marketing. "We expect that our customers
will find Version 4.0 even more user-friendly, helping them
increase productivity by further simplifying online searches."
In both the structure drawing and terminal emulation programs, a
multiple document interface has been added. Users can now
simultaneously operate multiple tasks such as building two
structure queries at once or connecting to two hosts while
browsing a transcript.
Online command windows are also now available for all hosts.
Users can enter commands in a separate window and issue them to
the host immediately, one line at a time or by multiple lines.
Loading a file into the command window or saving the contents of
a command window to a file is also supported.
The price for STN Express 4.0 is $195, and upgrades will cost $49 each.
