I thought this might be of general interest to patent searchers.

We were very happy that our Phase II application to NIGMS
(2 R44 GM50907-02) had received an Excellent priority score
(180) and had been approved for funding by the National Advisory
General Medical Sciences Council. At that time, we were awaiting
approval of the NIGMS FY96 budget which would determine how
many of the approved projects got funded. Unfortunately,
discussions with Dr. Jim Anderson (ja10t@nih.gov) after the
NIGMS budget was approved have indicated that NIGMS will
most likely not be able to fund our project.

In that our project got a high priority score and would help all of the
institutes to achieve their missions, is there any way for another institute

to fund our existing application? Our project would create World-Wide-Web
software and content to help scientist/inventors (1) disclose their
inventions to their technology managers and patent attorneys and (2)
evaluate the patentability and commercial potential of those inventions
