Thank you for your response. One advantage of this technology
is that it gives me access to experienced patent searchers.

The FAQ on training/education resources for patent searchers
is an excellent idea. This technology enables anyone who
knows of a good source to recommend it. Then all of our
recommendations can be compiled into a master document.

Here are the resources I have found useful in addition to those
you mentioned:

Global Patent Sources
Patents Manual 1
Derwent Information Ltd.
1995

Patents: A Valuable Resource in the Information Age
Connie Wu
Ellen Calhoun
Special Libraries
Winter 1992 p.16 - 25.

Patent Fundamentals for Scientists and Engineers
Thomas T. Gordon
Arthur S. Cookfair
CRC Press
1995
ISBN 0-87371-317-6

Understanding Chemical Patents
A Guide for the Inventor
John T. Maynard
American Chemical Society
1978
ISBN 0-8412-0347

Chemical Information Sources
Gary Wiggins
McGraw Hill Inc.
1991
ISBN 0-07-909939-4

I hope others will contribute to this FAQ. Thanks also to Norman Schmuff
for the info on the PERI class by Edlyn Simmons. I am unable to attend,
but perhaps such valuable courses will be video taped and made
available for sale in the future.

If anyone can recommend books, articles, training materials, courses,
internet sites etc., for this Patent Searching Training/Education FAQ,
please contribute.

When it is completed, I assume it's ultimate home will be
http://www.patents.com?

Thank You
