A course entitled "Pharmaceutical Patent Searching Workshop" sponsored by the
Pharmaceutical Education & Research Institute (PERI) will be held from 6-8 May

in Arlington, VA. Program announcements can be obtained from PERI at
703-276-0178. The cost is $845.

Edlyn Simmons is the course director.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course is designed to provide a broad overview of the patenting process,
sources of patent information and various means of answering patent
information requests pertaining to drugs, devices, and biologics. The basics
of US patent and foreign laws will be presented....

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
The course is ideal for information and library staff who would like a
comprehensive overview of the patenting process and sources of patent
information. It is also very useful for individuals working in research and
development who need a better understanding of the patent process--including
how to read a patent. Individuals new to patent searching are encouraged to
attend.

Registration is limited to 25 participants.
