As far as I know, Mimosa does not yet support hardware image
decompression solutions like the Kofax card. At MicroPatent we still
recommend the use of Patsoft or our MasterIndex software for high
performance printing of patent documents from EP, PCT, and US
(PatentImage) discs.
If you want to work with MS Windows software, you can use Mimosa to
search the discs and our MasterIndex software to print. This works
well, and the latest version of our MasterIndex software for Windows
supports most high performance printing options including several
for networked HP, ATI, and QMS printers equipped with image
decompression hardware.
The PAJ/CD discs are a little different in that they are already in
mixed mode format. Most of the data is stored as text (ascii), and the
images are not as large and consequently decompress a lot faster than
the US, EP, and PCT patent copies. Mimosa is the only software choice
at the moment.
I have heard that a new version of Mimosa will be available
soon. Hopefully this will support Kofax as well as a high performance
solution for network printing.
