I am trying to track down a US Defensive issued in early 1969 which is
abstracted in CAS. There appears to be no corresponding record in CLAIMS,
and no patent has been granted on this invention as far as I can determine.
I understand that this series (USTnnnnnn-H) was renumbered according to a
new scheme in December 1969 and that all earlier cases issued between
commencement of the scheme in 1968 and Dec. 69 were retrospectively
re-numbered using the OG volume number instead of the application number.
Can anyone confirm whether CLAIMS reloads have taken account of this
renumbering ? If so, the CAS and CLAIMS records will not tally in the
"publication number" field, and it will only be possible to tie records
together on the basis of inventors and issue date - application number and
date is not recorded in CLAIMS.
