Thought I'd send this out again. I received one good reply,
but know that others must have thoughts on this.
I have a collection of 9000 patents filed in paper files.
I would like to convert the files to an image based system.
I am considering scanning them but have heard that the
accuracy rate of OCR is still a problem.
I am familiar with Derwent and Micropatent products
and services, but this is a small project and so the costs
encourage us to develop our own system.
We are looking at laserfiche, paperclip watermark and other
packages. We are also unsure if storage to a hard drive,
CD Rom or optical drive would be best.
Would anyone who has set up an imaging system
be willing to give some advice?
