RE: Search Problem in WPI

It has been awhile but I recalled there may be a field called "PANAME"
in the WPI file on Dialog which would extract the assignee by name.
However, you will lose the advantages of ranking by codes since there
are multiple names per code. You may wish to verify this with Dialog.

I#m working on a market research type of problem, and I#m trying to
get a ranking of assignees from an answer set in WPI. The logical way
to do this is to do a ranking on the patent assignee codes. However,
when using smartselect on STN, only the codes (the paco field) are
selected and displayable in the ranked list. There does not seem to
be a method for automatically appending a real name to the
code.
Does
anyone
have
any
advice
on
this
problem?
