"The full text of the claims and descriptions as well as
image data makes USPATFULL one of the most comprehensive
resources for U.S. patent information available today," said
Suzan Brown, CAS director of marketing. "Our unique
implementation includes complete CAS indexing with CAS Registry
Numbers for the same or an equivalent patent; thesauri for the
U.S. Patent Classification codes and the current (6th) edition
of the WIPO International Patent Classification (IPC) Codes; and
very powerful search capabilities. The addition of page images
for recent years strengthens our offering for scientific
researchers."
The USPTO publishes patents on Tuesday of each week. STN's
U.S. patent page image and searchable text data is available on
Thursday of the same week.
USPATFULL offers several combinations of text and page image
formats to enhance viewing clarity and minimize downloading
time. Several new display formats integrate front page
bibliographic data and text format abstracts with drawings in
page image format to give users a better sense of the patent.
Modem speeds of 14.4K bps or higher are recommended to
download page images in a reasonable time frame. However, the
front page of a typical patent can be downloaded using a 9600 bps
modem for about $2 in connect time charges.
