Information concerning the present Register of European patents (X.25 access
or
direct dialling via the public telephone line)
Due to preparations for the Year 2000 conversion, the Register of European
Patents
on-line will be out of service from
December 30th 1999 at 14:00 CET
until
January 5th 2000 at 7:00 CET

Information concerning the NEW Register of European patents via internet
As announced at the Patinnova Epidos 1999 conference, the first internet
version of the Register of European Patents will be launched in January
2000.
The exact data will be announced on this site.
This first release will provide the same scope of information as the present
Register: the result screen presents
data divided into different chapters and in the same order as the present
Register: bibliographic data, search, examination, opposition and appeal.

Additional search fields:
Besides the present search criteria (application/publication numbers,
applicant, priority number and International classification -IPC-) the
internet
version provides six additional search fields:
Publication date
Priority date
Filing date
Inventor
Opponent
Representative
An on-line user test panel for the new Internet Register is being set up for
January 2000. Users with good knowledge of the European Patent procedure are
welcome to participate. Test users are requested to send their feedback on
the
functionality and data quality of this first release. Proposals for
improvements will be taken into account for the next release of the Register
in
June 2000.
