1) The entire PIUG annual meeting has been shifted one day earlier. The
PIUG meeting will now be Tuesday, April 27 through Thursday, April 29th.
2) Classes will be offered on the Monday preceding the PIUG meeting and on
the Friday following the PIUG meeting.
3) These changes were necessary to reserve the best possible meeting space
from the hotel.
4) Several meetings and training opportunities are consolidating into this
one meeting. This offers patent searchers as much as possible with a
minimum of travel expense.
5) A demonstration room will be open Tuesday through Thursday. The
demonstration room will highlight the new Internet Patent databases.
Demonstration tables have been reserved for MicroPatent, Derwent Patent
Explorer, QPAT, Manning and Napier (MapIt), and IBM Business Network. In
addition, Alan Engel (ISTA) will be demonstrating his Japanese Translation
Service and the BizInt Smart Charts for Patents will demonstrate their
software.

PIUG email list and registration materials will be available in the next
issue of the PIUG newsletter.
PIUG members will be given preference for registration for the hands-on
European Register and INPADOC training. The registration for the hands-on
European Register and INPADOC training will be limited to one person per
company and may be picked lottery-style (this seems the most fair). If
additional spots are available we will open the registration to more than
one person per company.
This should be an exciting and informative PIUG annual meeting!
