INTRODUCTORY SEARCHING OF CHEMICAL PATENTS ON DWPI ("CHEMISTRY WITHOUT
CODES")
Derwent's World Patents Index is a powerful tool for finding
patents on all subjects. It contains many parts which can be
used with other databases and with certain host features to
improve retrieval. This course teaches some basic and advanced techniques
for better use of the database.

Derwent creates a powerful indexing system to help you find
patents on polymers with particular structures, modifications,
preparation, properties and uses. Searching by indexing
routinely finds relevant patents that are otherwise not
retrievable. This course will teach you what is covered by the indexing,
and how to use it.
