announced today the release of FamPat, its new international patent
family database.
FamPat is based on PlusPat, Questel*Orbit's well-known international
patent database, producing the most extensive and current international
patent file: more than 50 million records from more than 70 worldwide
patenting authorities.
The FamPat patent family design groups together the patent records from
the countries and patent issuing authorities in which protection for =
one
particular invention has been applied for and/or granted. FamPat
upholds the family spirit by considering the invention as the sole
criterion.
This allows:
* a more precise and exhaustive search
* a concise display which can be expanded to related inventions
FamPat is available for all Questel*Orbit subscribers through its Qweb
and Imagination services, and is available in QPAT for free (for
subscribers) through March 2005.
