II. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform on-line searches of scientific and patent literature and issue
value-added patent search reports for formulators on right to market,
raw materials, methodology and patentability topics
- Assist in the right to market process, including follow ups with the
labs, pre-viewing submitted formulations and new raw materials by
conducting documentary searches
- Assist in tracking right to market projects to help maintain a
reasonable response time to the laboratories
- Work with the formulation laboratories, research and Central Research
groups, the US patent agents/attorney, the French Patent Department and
documentalist groups on patent and right to market projects
- Create/maintain and update files and documentation
databases/collections
- Help evaluate current and new information tools, services, resources
and vendors
- Help maintain the P_at_tLetter patent publication and work with the
French Patent Department on this joint publication
- Educate, train, and assist formulators and the user community on
becoming more knowledgeable about patents, patentability and right to
market procedures and issues, and the use of information services, tools
and databases
III. JOB REQUIREMENTS
- at least a bachelors degree in Chemistry or related field
- preferably skilled and experienced in on-line patent searching
- knowledge of patents/databases/services/information resources
- excellent computer, writing and analytical skills
- excellent problem-solving skills
- knowledgeable and experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and
Power Point, searching on the internet
- strong organizational, multi-tasking and communication skills
- flexible and detail-oriented
- knowledge of the cosmetic industry and cosmetic formulation
- knowledge of French language is a plus

Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
