It would be very helpful if PIUG end user members would contribute their
opinions on this, even if its only an "I agree" or an "I disagree." As
far as I can tell, Jim's post is perfectly in line with the PIUG
Guidelines for Commercial Postings ( http://www.piug.org/listcg.html
<http://www.piug.org/listcg.html> ). Now we have one irate response and
one favorable response. If a significant number of members agree with
the irate response, the guidelines should be revised.

You may view the message from Mr. Turner as spam, but others may be
interested. I see few postings of this type on the listserver . It is
easy to just delete or ignore as you wish.

I waste more time in dealing with the junk mail in my snail mail
mailbox. Envelopes to be opened, papers to be put in the recycling
box... Simply hitting the delete message key for unwanted email is
simple and efficient.

My apologies to those that read this rant, and think I may be wasting
their time. I am done and will not continue this thread. We all get
too much junk mail, mea culpa.

Dear Mr. Turner,

The Patent Information Discussion List is not a free advertising message
board! I feel that an ad of this type without a person from the
discussion list asking for information about your services is just SPAM.
I understand that you would like to get your message across but there is
a more professional way to do so. Am I now to put a SPAM blocker on my
PIUG Discussion list e-mails?

Thanks for your time,

Rob

Dear PIUG,

Just a quick note to notify members of the PIUG that FileShopper.com has
some great new document providers and a far greater inventory of
electronic file histories than before.

If you are in need of file history copies and want to find out who has
it available today, visit www.FileShopper.com
