What is the relationship between Univentio and LexisNexis?

LexisNexis acquired Univentio, which will continue to operate from the
Netherlands with the current management and staff.

Why did LexisNexis buy Univentio?

The acquisition of Univentio reinforces an ongoing commitment by
LexisNexis to provide legal and business professionals with
authoritative and comprehensive intellectual property research
information, productivity tools and services.

Why is this good for the market?

Univentio has always focused on building the highest quality patent data
in the industry and joining with LexisNexis extends the reach of this
data internationally, specifically in both the corporate and legal
markets. LexisNexis brings enhanced capabilities and content that will
allow Univentio to better serve IP professionals. In fact, LexisNexis
will offer Univentio data through a powerful innovative patent search
platform specifically designed for the needs of intellectual property
professionals. In addition, we'll begin to incorporate Univentio's data
on lexis.com(r) later this year with additional authorities added next
year.

When will this new patent search platform be available?

We plan to release a new patent search platform in May.

What will happen to current Univentio data license customers?

On the day of the acquisition announcement, all current data license
customers were contacted to let them know about the acquisition.
LexisNexis Univentio holds these types of relationships in the highest
regard and will continue Univentio's vision of making decisions that are
in the best interests of its customers. However, we can't comment on
specific customer agreements since these agreements between LexisNexis
Univentio and its data license customers are confidential and
proprietary.
