Landon IP's growing Patent Search and Analytics Unit has immediate
openings for Patent Analysts. Patent Analysts are technical experts =
and
are responsible for strategic searching and analysis of patents and
technical literature to assist clients in determining the type and
amount of information disclosing the technology of interest. Landon IP
has research teams in the following six technical fields:
 
* Life Sciences
* Electronics and Electrical Engineering
* Computers and Business Methods
* Mechanical Engineering
* Chemistry and Chemical Engineering
* Medical Devices
 
 
The responsibilities of the Patent Analyst will include the following:
 
* Perform searches relating to patentability
(novelty), validity, freedom-to-operate and infringement
* Draft invention disclosures and patent
applications, as required
* Communicate effectively with customers in
determining the scope of searches and draft informative reports that
clarify and summarize search results
* Maintain proficiency with commercial patent
databases and other proprietary databases that disclose technical
publications.
* Analysts also have the opportunity to conduct
long-term landscape studies to assist clients in identifying licensing
opportunities, finding gaps in technology and identifying trends within
the field of interest.


 
The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in the appropriate
technical field in addition to a working knowledge of intellectual
property research methods. Additionally, the ideal candidate should
have expertise with research and retrieval of technical literature =
using
various databases, including creating and executing Boolean searches.
Landon IP provides extensive training in search methodology and patent
analysis; however, strong current awareness and understanding of the
appropriate technical field is vital for success.
