The first Indian data appeared in Derwent World Patents Index (DWPI)
update 2005 29 (6th May 2005).

 

DWPI will have complete coverage of Indian granted patents and
applications published in English and Hindi from December 4th 2004,
under India's new patent law. The coverage is based on the Official
Journal of the Indian Patent Office and includes PCT transfers to the
Indian national phase.

 

The bibliographic data is standardised and validated according to the
strict DWPI rules. Value-add is applied to abstracts, and manual codes
and deep indexing are assigned as necessary.

I was wondering whether the database vendors could comment on their
coverage of Indian patents and applications.
 
1. What is the date range of coverage
2. Approximately what % of Indian patents/applications are covered?
3. Are their any "holes" in the coverage?
