Dear colleagues
Thank you to the many who have suggested various tactics to access
PAIR. It turns out that the culprit is Norton Personal Firewall 2004.
If I turn this off completely, I can get access to the tabbed view
within PAIR.
It now remains to find out whether the firewall is in some way
configurable so that I do not have to turn it off each time. I have
already tried various options, such as modifying the levels for ad
blocking, pop-up blocking and Java or Active X controls - to no avail.
It seems to be either wholly off or nothing. Does anyone know whether
this application can be configured to allow traffic to/from specific
websites, and if so, where is the option lurking?
I would also be grateful if someone could send me an example of a public
PAIR record which has a scanned file wrapper available. So far, my test
examples give access to a range of tabs but no apparent link to IFW.
All the help on IFW within the USTPO website seems to be geared towards
users of private PAIR - I cannot find any information about coverage in
public PAIR at all.
Thanks in advance,
Stephen
