In between, you last time check WIPO site, and now, IPC 8 has been released.

I get e-mail from WIPO Classification Division 2 weeks ago that IPC 8 was released as scheduled in June 2005, but was available for patent offices only at that time. I was told that public release is expected in a week or so. IPC is on the public domain now!
