Dear PIUG Members,

 

Landon IP is seeking an experienced patent analyst to serve as Director
of the growing Commercial Patent Search Group. The director is
responsible for day-to-day management of the group and quality control
of patent searches performed for commercial clients. The incumbent =
will
be held accountable for ensuring timely completion of requests,
maintaining high-levels of customer satisfaction, attainment of goals
and growth of the group.

 

Landon IP has a long and rich history in the retrieval and analysis of
patent and trademark information dating back to 1949. Landon IP

Responsibilities of the position include:

 

- Ensure quality of every search

- Review, edit and direct revision of all search reports

- Approval of all search reports

- Ensure searches meet parameters authorized by the client

- Continually question analysts' methodology and ensure it is sound and
thorough

- Continually update, as appropriate, search reporting mechanisms

- Direct flow of search work to maintain highest levels of customer
satisfaction

- Consult with analysts and search managers to answer questions, solve
problems, and address client requests

- Consult with clients to address any questions, concerns, or search
scoping issues

- Perform actual searches as needed

 

In conjunction with the Vice President of Patent Searching and
Analytics, the incumbent will also be actively involved in the =
following
activities:

 

- Coordinate appropriate staffing levels and schedules for Patent
Analysts and Search Managers

- Actively contribute to the development and evaluation of all =
employees
within the unit

- Manage the evaluation of search tools and development of search
automation tools

- Develop quality assurance tools to ensure highest levels of quality =
on
each search

 

Job Requirements

 

- Strong experience in performing a variety of patent searches,
including novelty, validity, infringement and state of the art searches

- Ability to multitask and manage competing demands while providing
superior customer service

- Strong ability to motivate and lead employees

- 5 or more years experience in patent searching or patent prosecution

- Highly skilled in developing a search methodology and in conducting
searches

- BS in engineering, chemistry, biology, physics or related technical
field

- Excellent interpersonal / communication skills
