Q - I need to confirm status and ownership of patents in these
countries. Does anyone know if this can be done on-line or if manual it
is likely to take more than a week in any of these jurisdictions? If so,
how long does it take?

Israel: Regarding Israeli legal status, if it is a granted patent you
can find it in the Inpadoc database or call the Israeli Patent Office:
+972-2-5651665 (more accurate information). You can't get any legal
status for Israeli patent application.

Korea Legal status information for Korean patents is available in
English at: http://eng.kipris.or.kr/Search/Search.html
<http://eng.kipris.or.kr/Search/Search.html> . (You will be required to
register for a user id and password, but registration is free.) By doing
a simple number search you can retrieve basic legal status information
in English. More detailed status information is available in Korean (can
be copied/pasted into a translation engine). Chinese legal status is
currently only available in Chinese, at the Chinese patent office's
