On conferences, you could also consider the annual EPO information
conferences - the next one is in Budapest in early November 2005.
 
On literature, the terms 'automatic classification' or 'automated
classification',for instance, in ScienceDirect for just the journal
World Patent Information provides 12 hits. Also the EPO, for instance,
has a project for automated allocation of new patent applications to the
correct technical area, which will also be of interest - an article on
this was also published in this journal. And of course the principles of
automated classification are not limited to the field of patent
documents.

Hi, Dear all
 
I am searching a conference to attend in 2006. I am going to submit a
paper about automatic patent classification. As I know, there are two
conferences about patent information so far,
1) PIUG 2006
2) IPI-CONFEX 2006
 
But could any one provide more choices if possible? And is anybody doing
the same project as me---about automatic patent classification. I found
few literature about this. ...:(
