The PIUG 2003 Annual Conference will be held May 3-9 in Chicago. The
conference will feature world-renowned experts on patent analysis for
technology research and planning, for legal organizations, and for
overall corporate IP management (technology licensing and related
activities). Details will be provided shortly.
The program includes three panel discussions: "Ask PIUG," "Ask The
Manager," and "Ask The Expert." These are in response to feedback for
more interactive meeting sessions. We intend for this to be an
opportunity for the panelists and participants to share their knowledge
and ideas about patent analysis.
WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please submit questions to be considered for any one
of our three panels:
1) "Ask PIUG: a panel discussion featuring select questions from
commercial information providers", hosted by John Willmore - Tuesday,
May 6, 4-5pm - Most of the PIUG Full Member panel participants will
likely be selected based on the proposed questions to the panel. The
panel participants will answer questions related to patent information
or patent analysis customer needs, viewpoints, etc. Only people
working for commercial information providers (i.e. vendor employees or
PIUG Associate Members) should submit questions for panel 1.
2) "Ask the manager: patent analysis roles", a panel discussion
featuring select corporate information managers, hosted by David Dickens
- Wed., May 7, 1:30-3pm - The panelists will represent some of the
leading corporate patent information groups in the US and perhaps
elsewhere. The panelists will most likely each give a short
presentation about their respective information group, to be followed by
a question and answer period. Any subscriber to the discussion list or
any PIUG member may submit questions for panel 2.
3) "Ask the expert: patinformatics", a panel discussion hosted by Tony
Trippe, Wed., May 7, 3:30-5pm - The experts on this panel will most
likely be selected based on your proposed questions. Here you have the
opportunity to ask tricky technical questions about patent analysis tool
features, ask for specific tips, etc. Any subscriber to the discussion
list or any PIUG member may submit questions for this panel.
The questions will be previewed and selected by the PIUG program
committee and one or more session chairs. Please respond on or before
Jan. 15, directly to tony@trippe.com, with the
PANEL NUMBER (1, or 2, or 3) and
PROPOSED QUESTION(S).
Thanks.
