Thomson Derwent has announced the development of Derwent Analytics(SM)
powered by VantagePoint(R) the new data mining and visualization software
product for the desktop. The Derwent Analytics interface is equipped with
the VantagePoint data mining software from Search Technology to enable users
to manage and extract information from the Derwent World Patents Index(R)
database, for the purposes of analyzing trends and profiling specific
patenting activity.
In addition, Derwent Analytics software was designed to allow users to view
individual patent records within a search set and discover patterns and
relationships within the data that may not be immediately apparent. In
