Hello Rene,

Uma Suthersanen of Queen Mary IP Research Institute conducted a particularly
thorough review of petty patent or utility model provisions worldwide a
couple of years ago, in the context of EU moves and consultations.

She Googles well, with a name like that....

Hope that helps

Subject: 6 year patent

Dear all,

In The Netherlands a patentright that will last 6 year can be applied for
since the new Dutch patentlaw of 1995. The patent is granted without
examination. Does anyone know whether there are any other countries where a
patent can be applied for a similar short timeperiod?

Regards,
