Patent Information Scientist

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsibility for conducting chemical patent searches. This includes searching for and providing crucial scientific and patent information to support the Patent Law Department. Other responsibilities include facilitating end users ability to utilize desk top information tools and evaluating new information technologies.
· BS or higher degree in a relevant scientific discipline, preferably in chemistry or biochemistry; MS or Ph.D. in chemistry or biochemistry a plus
· Five + years of relevant experience including chemical structure and reaction, Markush and Derwent fragmentation code searching
· Expertise in using STN, Dialog, Questel*Orbit, Beilstein/CrossFire, etc.
· Knowledge of patents and intellectual property
· Strong desktop computing skills
· Strong organizational skills
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within teams
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Creativity, ingenuity, and innovation
