Background:

The group was established in 1972 and the first objectives were the
development and improvement of the aperture card quality and its
technical environment.

In recent years, the objectives are significantly changed and now we
build a forum to discuss issues and concerns relevant to the patent
searcher community.

Currently we have 67 members from the European Patent authorities (DPMA,
EPO), patent depository libraries, representatives and documenation
experts of the main chemical, electrical and automotive enterprises in
Germany, members from SME‘s and members of the most important patent
data base producers, vendors and internet providers, and also
information brokers.

Our main objectives are to maintain and to improve the quality of all
products from the customer and user perspective.
