People who really need a clean, readable copy of a Japanese patent might
consider ordering a copy of the file wrapper.
Why?
Internally at the JPO, patent applications were printed and handled on
A5 (about 6 in x 8 in) metric paper in a nice large font. For printing
for the public, four A5 sheets were shrunk onto a single A4 (about 8 in
x 12 in) sheet., i.e, to about 2/3 of the original size.
The file wrapper should contain a copy of the A5 version. It will cost
a lot and take time to receive, but you should have much less trouble
reading it.
