MANAGING EDITOR (Chemistry) - Current Drugs Ltd
Current Drugs Ltd, London, UK is seeking a motivated, experienced
individual to manage a team of in-house editors responsible for producing
the chemistry content of the company's products, including Patent Fast-Alert
and the Investigational Drugs database (IDdb).
You will be required to oversee the workflow within the team to
ensure that standards are maintained and deadlines are met. You will work
closely with the technical, production and editorial teams to improve
operational procedures and provide input into editorial policy. You will be
responsible for the planning and implementation of various projects to
broaden the scope of the chemical information provided by the company,
including further development of the in-house Compound Registry. The
position also involves liaising with organisations such as the Chemical
Abstract Service and dealing with chemistry-related customer queries.
Applicants should possess a good organic/medicinal chemistry
background (first degree, preferably higher), knowledge of patents and the
pharmaceutical industry, familiarity with IUPAC nomenclature and chemical
structure databases (preferably ISIS/Base). Candidates will ideally have a
fundamental understanding of electronic information retrieval.
A minimum of three years scientific publishing or chemical
information experience is preferred. Previous management experience would be
extremely advantageous.
