Peggy (and peers),

I want to add some additional sources which may be useful for searching
licensing information:

1. Information about licenses offered by US government.

Information about Government-Owned (or Federal) inventions available for
licensing is published as Notices in the Federal Register. The Federal
Register is searchable via GPO Access from 1995 (or 1994), (limit to
Notices section) (http://www.access.gpo.gov/su_docs/aces/aces140.html)
[at STN, file FEDREGFULL from 1997, at DIALOG, file 180 from 1985).

Search may be limited for specific agency (Environmental Protection
Agency, National Institute of Health, Department of Navy, etc.) by
including a name of the agency in a search strategy.

Typical titles of notices:

Government-Owned Inventions; Availability for Licensing
Availability for Non-Exclusive, Exclusive, or Partially Exclusive
Licensing of U.S. Patent Application...
Notice of Federal Invention Available for Licensing...

Another important documents which published are
Intent To Grant Exclusive License (or Prospective Grant of Exclusive
License)
which include a name of the company -- prospective exclusive licensee.

37 CFR 4.404 discusses situations when notices of availability may not
be published (nonexclusive licenses; publication of a notice on
prospective licensee, etc.)

Pharmaceuticals related information from the Federal Register is posted
from June 2001 on http://www.pharmcast.com
(http://www.pharmcast.com/FederalRegistrar/FRHome.htm)

====================

2. Commercial Databases:

2.1 An excellent review of using licensing information at STN databases
is included in training material "Licensing Activities", posted at STN
website at FIZ Karlsruhe, Germany
http://www.stn-international.de/training_center/patents/PatentForum98/li
cens.pdf (p. 15-22)

PROMT, PATDPA, PATDD, PATOSEP, NTIS, IFIPAT / USPATFULL, BUSINESS,
DRUGUPDATES - IMS R&D Drug Focus, PHAR (PharmaProjects)
======================
2.2 Ron Kamanecki made interesting presentation on "Strategies for
Finding Licensing and Reassignment Information on Dialog" at 2001 PIUG
Northeast Workshop with tips how to find Licensing Information in
full-text (news) files.

===============
3. One important fee-based website for "Research Tools for
Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, and Technology Transfer
Professionals" is Knowledge Express http://www.knowledgeexpress.com/. It
was not included in previous postings or Steve van Dulken's list. (I
found this site at Tech Transfer resources on the Internet, prepared by
the National Agricultural Library,
http://www.nal.usda.gov/ttic/techseek.htm#exchange)

PS Some government notices contain interesting details about
availability patent applications (filed and unfilled(!))

Peggy,

A number of sites where people offer to license their patents are listed
at
http://www.bl.uk/services/information/patents/othlink3.html#lic on our
site.
In Britain at least it is not required to file information on licensing
anywhere and I suspect that the same is true elsewhere.

Subject: Patents Licensing offers

Hello All,

Is anyone aware of a source/website that posts licensing offers or
shows
licensing agreements?
Also, was looking to read some conditions and terms (legal and
financial) of
patent license agreements in place?
(I may be dreaming here.....)
Thanks,

Peggy A. Lucero
