Dear PIUG colleagues,
I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday and are starting 2002 feeling
refreshed and energized! The PIUG newsletter team (Nurdan Atalay, Assistant
Editor, Diane Webb, Production Editor and myself, with the help of Suzanne
Elsoffer, Newsletter Advisor) has already begun to think about producing the
next issue of the PIUG newsletter and we would like to invite you to submit
a contribution.
* Do you have an idea for an article related to patent information that
would be of interest to the membership?
* Have you attended a conference or workshop that you would like to report
on?
* Have you received a promotion or changed jobs or do you have any other
good news that you would like to share with your colleagues in PIUG?
If so, please let us know - we would like to publish your contribution in
the next newsletter.
Advertisements are also very welcome. The newsletter is circulated to over
500 members of PIUG with a demonstrated expertise and/or interest in patents
and patent information, so your advertisement will reach a highly focused
audience.
The deadline for submissions for the next issue is March 1, 2002. If you are

This will be my last issue as PIUG Newsletter Editor. I have been very
fortunate to interact with a good many of you during production of the past
three issues of the newsletter and have found my time as Editor highly
rewarding: I will be sorry to leave. However, I am very pleased to announce
that Megan Charlesworth, of Cook, Incorporated, will step into the position
of Editor in May, 2002. Megan brings a great deal of experience and
enthusiasm to the position and I know that the newsletter will be in very
capable hands. Please join me in welcoming Megan to the newsletter team and
in wishing her the same enjoyment and fulfilment in the position that I have
experienced over the past year and a half.
