This may not be news to many of you, but it was new to me. An article
in yesterday's Minneapolis Star Tribune (10/19/00, p. D3; dateline San
Jose: source AP) described a website run by BountyQuest Corp. (Boston)
which offers cash rewards for tips (anonymous) that would provide prior
art information that would either validate or invalidate specified
patents. Currently, more than 20 offers exist on the site including
$10,000 for prior art for Amazon's one-click system.
