Ed, thanks for the tip about retrieving German Utility Models. I have
been able to retrieve most documents from the Esp@cenet Worldwide
database without using kind codes, including German patents. Did you
find documentation on Esp@cenet that lists when kind codes are necessary
for direct document retrieval by document number and when the kind codes
are unnecessary? This may account for the problems I've had retrieving
JP documents there as well.
