One of my colleagues attempted to print a copy of the IPC definitions from the
WIPO IPC site, http://classifications.wipo.int/fulltext/new_ipc/index.htm. To
his surprise the text didn't print either from Netscape or from Internet
Explorer. In Netscape, the little flags around the edge surrounded a blank
frame. Not only couldn't the text be printed, but it couldn't be saved as a
.txt file.
I was surprised that I'd never seen or heard anything about this situation. I
wonder if there's a simple way to make a copy of the codes or if there's an
alternative site where copying is possible. Is there some WIPO policy that
forbids copying excerpts from the IPC manual without using a pencil? Does
anyone know anything about this?

P.S. I actually found a way to copy the text, but it's counterintuitive. You
can save the page as a HTML file and reopen it. In that case, Netscape shows
the text, but not the flag icons, and the file prints normally.
