ExxonMobil Research & Engineering Company has an immediate opening for a
Chemical Information Specialist in the Information Research & Analysis
Group
located at our Research facilities in Annandale, NJ.
The successful candidate will join a group of advanced degree scientists
responsible for providing evaluated patent studies, competitive
intelligence
information, and analyses of technical information in support of research
and
planning groups, patent attorneys, and management personnel throughout
ExxonMobil. Projects will include state-of-the-art critical reviews,
patent
studies related to novelty, validity, and freedom of operation and
development
of in-house literature databases and current-awareness tools. Chemical
Information Specialists work with a variety of commercial online databases,
WorldWideWeb resources, and traditional information tools.
The successful candidate will be an integral member of the technical staff
of
ExxonMobil Research and Engineering, working in areas including many
branches
of chemistry, polymer and materials science, and petroleum and
petrochemical
processes. Responsibilities of the position include active participation on
research/intellectual property teams. Experimentation and development in
cutting-edge information analysis and delivery mechanisms are encouraged.
Requirements of the position are:
* Ph.D. in chemistry
* Minimum of three years experience in patent/technical literature
searching
using online databases and Internet resources
* Experience in organizing and analyzing complex technical information from
a
variety of sources
* Strong PC skills
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Collaborative teamwork abilities
* Experience with Lotus Notes would be a plus.
