Popular CA Selects Topics Available on the Web in July
COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 11, 2000 - All 241 titles in the CA Selects
series--the biweekly, subject specific research bulletins that
thousands of researchers have relied upon since 1976 in printed
form--will become available via the web in July. CAS announced
the new subscription-based service at the Special Libraries
Association Annual Conference, June 11, in Philadelphia.
CA Selects on the Web will deliver biweekly current awareness
directly to the scientist's desktop. The series offers a range
of titles to choose from, such as High Performance Liquid
Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, Catalysis (Organic) and many
others. Each topic contains informative abstracts selected by
CAS scientists from the comprehensive CHEMICAL ABSTRACTS (CA)
database that correspond to a specific subject interest. CA
Selects titles will contain the most current bi-weekly issue and
the three most recent past issues.
"CA Selects on the Web offers up to date information in many
specialty areas - with the ease of use and convenience of web
delivery. CA Selects subscribers will also enjoy new
capabilities, such as the ability to obtain full-text articles
and patents via the ChemPort Connection," said CAS Marketing
Director Suzan A. Brown.
Special benefits of CA Selects on the Web include
o Email notification when new issues are available;
o Keyword searching via a "find" feature;
o Full-text options via the ChemPort-Connection;
o Individual or site subscriptions;
o Timely information with no postal delays or internal routing problems.
CA Selects on the Web is expected to appeal to scientists
interested in an easy-to-use, Web-based electronic
current-awareness tool, as well as to corporate librarians
interested in providing Intranet tools to their clients.
