Senior level patent information professional to lead and manage the Patent
Information department. The primary focus is to provide access to patent
information, literature search services, competitive analysis, print and
electronic content and associated technologies in support of research
scientists, therapeutic teams, legal an licensing/acquisitions initiatives.
The successful candidate will set the strategic direction for patent
information as a cross divisional resource which includes pharmaceutical,
hospital and diagnostic products.
Requirements:
Proactively partner with senior management, scientist,
licensing/acquisitions and legal teams to develop and implement patent
information solutions. Ensure that the resources, tools, training and
processes are in place to meet the growing needs. Monitor industry changes
and maintain a leading edge portfolio of products and services. Lead a
patent information process and technology design project to broaden access
to information capabilities across all company divisions. Manage and mentor
a staff of 10.
Ph.D. in Chemistry or Life Science with 8-10 years experience researching
patent information. In-depth knowledge of patent and chemical databases
including STN, Dialog, Questel and Derwent patent files. Experience
managing end user access to patent resources and alerting services.
Contract negotiation skills and Proven leadership and project management
experience.
