After having a very successful planning meeting last Wednesday evening with
many people volunteering to help with next year's Patent Information Users
Group (PIUG) 2001 Annual Conference, a tentative date has been set for
Sunday, April 29 to Wednesday May 2, 2001. Please let me know within the
next three weeks if you foresee any major conflicts with this date. (A
special thanks to Jane Thompson for taking notes during the planning meeting
and to Sandra Unger for sharing her experiences over the last few years!)
The location for the PIUG 2001 Annual Conference has also been tentatively
set at the same hotel as this year's meeting, i.e. the Hilton Crystal City
near National Airport in DC. The current plans for the 2001 Conference
include a theme on NAFTA (US, Canada and Mexico) and PCT Patent Information.
In this respect, Crystal City will again provide a very convenient
location for additional representatives from the US Patent and Trademark
Office and will also provide a central location for our other visitors,
including those from Canada, Mexico and Europe.
I will keep everyone informed as the plans progress and hope to soon provide
you with further contact information for the meeting and session organizers.

comments.
