Key Responsibilities
Retrieves, evaluates and analyzes chemistry/patent electronic and print
information in a systematic and organized way to support Novartis research,
chemical development and patent functions. Provides general reference/research
services to all Pharma functions. Participates in education programs for
scientists. Plays a role in implementing modern information management
techniques (automation of processes, visualization and simulation tools, etc.).
Minimum Requirements
BS/BA in Chemistry plus 5 years experience, or MS/MLS with 3 years experience,
in searching and analyzing patent and chemistry information, preferably in a
pharmaceutical company. The incumbent must be proficient in online research
(Dialog, STN, MicroPatent, WWW) and have knowledge of printed information and
WWW resources. Requires strong PC, communication, organizational skills, and
strong commitment to customer service.
