My fellow faculty member, Andy Berks, correctly points out that the PERI
Pharma/Biotech Patent Information course will give a broad perspective on patent
searching. The information about chemical structure search tools will be only a
small part of the course, though. We cover principles of patent law, how to
read a patent, an overview of patent databases, search techniques for various
kinds of information, patent term extensions and regulatory exclusivity, and a
host of other subjects.
If you're thinking of enrolling, you won't want to delay. We have room for only
11 more students.

May I make a plug for the PERI course on
Pharma/Biotech patent information? Anyone with open
ended questions like these should attend the upcoming
PERI course on patent information (see www.peri.org).
The course will be held in the Washington DC area Feb.
23-25. The PERI course will provide a big picture that
will address the concerns expressed in this message.
