Non-member submission from ["Noel J. Akers" <njakers@pdq.net>]

Hello to all,

The PIUG Annual meeting will be held April 30 - May 3, 2000 near Washington
DC. You are invited to present a poster on the subject of your choice, with
preference given to posters relating to U.S. patent information, since this
is the focus of this year's meeting. The poster session will likely be held
the evening of Sunday, April 30, after the PIUG business meeting, and in
conjunction with a small social activity (rumour is that it may involve ice
cream!), designed to help smooth the integration of first-time attendees.
We may also consider scheduling some time for posters during the evening of
Monday, May 1, for those who may be arriving a bit later.

The goal of the poster session is to give our members and colleagues an
opportunity to share some of their success stories. Some ideas to consider
may include... highlights on searching general subject areas, internet or
online tips, particular challenges and how they may be overcome, etc. The
format is a short presentation, with posters or overheads to supplement, in
a casual environment. We will do our best to help ensure that the
presenters are seen and heard.

Please respond to this note if you are interested in presenting a poster
with your name, corporate/other affiliation, telephone, fax number,
preferred evening (Sunday or Monday), email address, and title of the
poster. I will contact you later to confirm the timing of your session.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you and Happy 2000!
