One of my students has done a paper for me on the topic of chemical patent searching. His major focus is on using STN to "mine" chemical information. While I accept this focus, I wonder what other online and Web based resources would be included in a truly comprehensive survey of chemical patent searching and what arguments can be made for accessing some of the same data using other vendors. Your thoughts, comments and criticisms are more than welcomed.
