After months of dragging my feet I finally subscribed to PIUG.
Wouldn't you know it, as soon as I did I was asked a question that I thought
would be good to throw out for all of you.
A gentleman here said he'd read a newspaper article which stated that the
U.S. patent office had granted 33% more patents in 1998 than in 1997. He
wanted to know if that trend was unique to the U.S., or were other countries
issuing patents at similarly increased rates. Specifically he'd like to know
about EP, WO, DE, GB, FR, JP and CN.
I guess I could find that out by searching databases, but I thought I'd see
if some of you were already on top of that kind of information.
